The objective of CIS is 'A ceaseless effort for creating a balanced personality', of every student to successfully face this competitive world with ability, courage, and confidence. The study in the classroom is sensitized to the needs of present-day life. CIS has responded by developing a strategic plan that stresses improvement in all facets of the educational environment, the curriculum, teachers, and the administration.

The Cambridge curriculum leading to 'O' and 'A' level examinations is the basis of the teaching. The curriculum has been brought down in stages to standard VI to better groom the students to be ready to receive the 'O' level syllabus in standard VIII. CIS has achieved excellence in academics and 'O' level results. One of our candidates secured "Top in the world" in Human and Social Biology in the June 2008 session. In the May/June 2008 examination CIS was identified as the 'best performing students in Bangladesh'.
The medium of instruction is English. Bangla is taught as per the curriculum of the National Board to enable the students not to face any language difficulty if he/she desires to change to the Bangla medium for further studies. Religious studies and Islamiyat are compulsory for all Muslim students from standard I to VI. Quranic Studies is also compulsory for Muslim students from Nursery to Standard VI. Moral Science is compulsory for non muslim students.
CIS has introduced the National Curriculum in English from Play Group to Class 10.
The school offers Art, Hamd-Nath, and other activities. It is compulsory for all the students to enroll in one ECA./There is a Publishing Board which is responsible for issuing quarterly the CIS Mirror, News Letter. The students are divided into four Houses, Red, Blue, Green, and Yellow. Inter-house competitions in Debate, Quiz, Hamd & Naath, Athletics, and Indoor Games are held. Achievements are added to declare the Best House of the Year.
Every term, students are taken out on Stúdy Tours / Field Trips to places of importance, educative and entertaining as well. Places are private and public institutions, mills, and factories. Leading citizens will be invited for career counseling. Health Day is observed once a year. A physical health and dental checkup is carried out by an experienced Pediatrician and Dental Surgeon for all students. The record is maintained in a Health Card in the school. An eye test is done by the Lions Charitable Eye Hospital.
The school provides a bus service up to Najumeah Hat, the new Karnaphuly bridge, and Muradpur, subject to the availability of seats and the route being convenient and accessible.
The teachers are the strength of the school and the students the future assets; both are equally precious to CIS. The teaching staff is duly qualified, well-experienced, dedicated, and devoted to their profession. They attend the periodical in-house training, workshops, and seminars and those conducted by the University of Cambridge, the British Council, and other institutions. A continuous process of developing quality education is focused on the traditional teaching procedures and the classroom environment. Children are the beneficiaries of how well the teachers are discharging their responsibilities and the school achieves their objectives. It is said that the destiny of a country is shaped by the classroom

Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.
